Affirmations are great for helping you take control of your life. They help reform your thought process in ways that get things done. But, they need to be used in the right way.
Otherwise, you could be wasting your efforts.
Use these tips to help you create the right affirmations, and make them work!

1- Stay in the Present
People tend to think in terms of the future when trying to make something out of their lives.
For instance, they may say, “I am going to get a promotion someday.”
While this is certainly better than using negative language, when you stay focused on the present rather than the future, you will find you get better results.
People who desire promotion are more successful in their efforts when they are already performing at a higher rate.
Act as if you already have what it is that you want, while using your affirmations, and they will work that much faster!
2- Make Affirmations Part of Your Routine
By the time you reach adulthood, your brain has already been programmed with certain beliefs and habits that may be hard to break.
Thus, making changes can be difficult.
“You can’t teach an old dog new tricks” is a popular saying, after all.
But, anyone, regardless of age, can reprogram their brain if they focus long enough.
Affirmations will help, but only if you are willing to make them a part of your daily routine.
Use The Mirror To Make Affirmations Work Better
A technique popularized by the late Louise Hay, known as mirror work, involves stating positive affirmations while you look at yourself in the mirror. If you spend just a few minutes each morning or night working on this technique, you’ll see great results!
The book Mirror Work is a 21-day program that guides you through the entire process. I used it earlier this year and it really jump-started my own weight loss efforts. I struggled a bit before trying this program, and it helped smooth things out quite a bit.
Many people (not just me!) report making sweeping life changes because of this book. Don’t just take it from me — check out the book reviews!
Check it out for yourself if you’d like to save time and jump-start your daily affirmation practice in a way that you KNOW will work.
Find Support To Help Affirmations Work
Seek out others who have successfully implemented affirmations to get what they wanted.
Try looking online in places like Reddit or Facebook for forums. Another option is to try Meetup.com for your local area.
Search for meetups that may already be available. Or create your own and see what response you get. You just might be surprised!
Between the internet and local groups, you should be able to find like-minded people to help you manifest even more using the law of attraction and affirmations.
Do Your Research
Finally, it’s so important to do your research!
Luckily, there are many resources on the subject, more than you may imagine.
This can be a double-edged sword in that not all of the information will be helpful or relevant.
However, as you grow more comfortable, you will find it easier to filter out the noise.
There are several books available on Amazon for this topic. A great place to start is The Law Of Attraction by Esther and Jerry Hicks. This book is like the Bible of law of attraction for beginners.
